A 197,000-mile FJ60 that was taken apart properly and put back together properly, with nothing hidden about what is still wrong with it.

Fuel economy, honestly: 10+ MPG combined, 13-14 on the highway.
The rear quarter panels were roughly 80% bondo when the truck was bought in 2014. They were cut out and replaced with hand-shaped steel. The roof pan and tailgate were replaced with donor material from another FJ60. The chassis was repaired, sectioned where needed, and coated.
Every receipt and invoice from eleven years of ownership was scanned and entered into a spreadsheet, mileages reconciled where the shops recorded them wrong.
It has been a daily driver and a trail truck. Fire roads in the George Washington & Jefferson National Forest, the Relic Run at Uwharrie, and the school drop-off line. Rear-seat shoulder belts were added so the kids could ride in it.
Bought from a seller in Temecula, California, who used it for camping and hunting trips in the Sierras and Anza-Borrego. It cut out on the drive home.
Intake manifold replaced, carburetor work, transmission and transfer case resealed, front transmission seal, A/C converted to R134a. Work by Bob's Carbs in Oceanside, California.
Maintained by Iron Pig Offroad after a cross-country move to Virginia. Clutch hydraulic cylinders 2018. Front differential pinion seal June 2024. Sway bar end links and brake pads November 2024.
Bodywork and rust repair by Old Ride Side, then repainted in factory white. Quarter panels hand-shaped in steel; roof liner hand-dyed to match the original tan.
Exhaust system replaced.
A truck this old with this many miles has faults. Here are all of the ones I know about. If I find another, it goes on this list.
It has never failed to start. When it is cold out, or it has sat for a few days, it takes three or four cycles of gas, choke, crank. This is ordinary behaviour for a carbureted engine, but it is real and you should expect it.
There is a dash cover over it. Common on a truck of this age and not structural, but it is cracked underneath.
Visible in the interior photographs. Everything else in the cabin is in good order.
The radio works. The four Rockford Fosgate speakers work. The tape deck does not.
